Yuusha ga Shinda!: Murabito no Ore ga Hotta Otoshiana ni Yuusha ga Ochita Kekka.

Three years ago, a hero sealed a Hell Gate, but the seal has steadily weakened since, allowing monsters to slip through in sporadic bursts. When a large horde recently broke into the kingdom through the gate, the need for heroes arose once more. Touka Scott, a humble radish farmer in the southern town of Cheza, has long braced for sudden monster raids. To protect his village, he dug a concealed pit trap lined with bamboo spikes, hoping to lure any unwary beast to its doom. One day, a monster does appear. Touka attempts to tempt it into the trap with freshly roasted bacon, but the creature turns its nose up at the meat. Just in time, the local hero arrives and dispatches the monster, saving the village. Exhausted and hungry, the hero reaches for a bite of the bacon—only to stumble into Touka’s pit and perish on the spot. Now, saddled with the unintended death of the region’s protector, Touka is forced to step up and defend the land himself.
