Here and There and Us

Majima has always been the heart of his class—effortlessly popular, well-liked, and comfortable in the spotlight. So when he accidentally stumbles upon a hidden, unexpected side of the quiet and reserved Sonoki, it catches him completely off guard. What begins as simple curiosity quickly becomes an inexplicable fixation; Majima finds himself seeking out the introverted classmate at every opportunity, calling his name for no real reason other than to see how he will react. And when Sonoki’s pale cheeks flush crimson and he shrinks into himself with flustered embarrassment, Majima realizes he is in far deeper than he anticipated—those shy, flustered responses have already stolen his heart. Yet just as Majima begins to cherish these fleeting daily exchanges, the school year comes to an end. When the new term begins, the classroom assignments are posted, and their names are nowhere near each other. Suddenly, the casual encounters he once took for granted are no longer guaranteed, and the distance between them feels far greater than a few desks apart. Left to grapple with the ache of separation and the lingering question of whether his feelings were ever truly noticed, Majima must confront a new reality—one where reaching out to Sonoki is no longer as simple as calling his name from across the room.
