Summary

Official Details
A masterwork of chilling horror from Japan's preeminent master of the genre, *Orochi: Blood* is a haunting anthology of nine self-contained stories, each probing the darkest recesses of human nature, fate, and the grotesque. At the heart of these tales is the enigmatic Orochi, a mysterious observer who drifts through the lives of ordinary people as they spiral into madness, tragedy, and supernatural terror. From cursed bloodlines and disfiguring accidents to unspeakable crimes and the cruel indifference of society, every story peels back the veneer of normalcy to reveal a world where horror lurks just beneath the surface. In *Sisters*, two siblings descend into psychological torment as they await their eighteenth birthdays, knowing that every daughter of their bloodline is fated to become hideously ugly at that age. *Bones* follows a woman battered by a lifetime of misfortune as she desperately clings to the hope of happiness. A prodigy's brilliant future is shattered when a robber slashes his throat to silence his cries, leaving him with a horrific scar that defines his dismal existence. In *Hometown*, a young man returns to his seemingly static village after years in the city, only for Orochi to sense an uncanny wrongness beneath its familiar facade. A habitually lying child witnesses a grisly event but finds no one willing to believe him in *Key*. A three-year-old boy, the sole witness to his father's hit-and-run death, is dismissed by the courts—only for a lookalike of the killer to emerge as a famous singer years later. *Battle* explores a son's poetic tribute to his selfless father, questioning the true motive behind that devotion. In *Eyes*, a blind girl defiantly pursues justice after witnessing a murder that everyone refuses to credit. Finally, *Blood* concludes the tragic saga of two sisters: the younger, raised in the shadow of her perfect elder sibling and subjected to years of emotional abuse by a demanding mother, finds her long-simmering story reaching its devastating climax with Orochi at the center of the reckoning. Though comprising these nine featured tales, the series originally ran with a total of sixty-two installments, cementing its legacy as a landmark of horror manga.
