Nivawa to Saitou

Deep beneath the surface of the world dwells the Afika, an aquatic species unlike anything humanity has ever known. Highly intelligent and home to a rich culture entirely their own, these subterranean beings are determined to advance their civilization. To that end, they make regular journeys into the human world, observing our customs and learning from our way of life firsthand. Now, one such traveler has surfaced on a mission of communication—and has arrived at the home of an ordinary human. A child of the Afika, far removed from the dark waters of its birthplace, suddenly finds itself sharing a roof with a member of the very species it came to study. What follows is the story of an unlikely cohabitation, as two worlds separated by water and earth begin to overlap under a single roof. For a human and a child of the deep, everyday life becomes a series of small discoveries—and cultural exchange turns into something far more personal: living together, day by day.
