Lisa, Lorna, and Soichi, representing Japan, advance to the ex-Driver world race competition in Los Angeles after winning the domestic preliminary round. However, their arrival is marred by a reckless AI car, which they successfully stop, but this leads to tension with the local police department, who insist on examining their car overnight. As the situation unfolds, the team discovers that Angela, the daughter of the United States team's sponsor, has gone missing, and Lorna recalls that Angela was on the reckless AI car earlier. Soichi's search for Angela leads to his capture by a mysterious man, and he is shocked to find Angela being held captive as well. During their confinement in a warehouse, Soichi uncovers a connection between the series of incidents and illegal gambling on the ex-Driver world race competition, prompting him to devise an escape plan to free himself and Angela.
