My Favourite Carrera

When her father passes away, a young woman finds her life unexpectedly steered in a new direction. In his will, he leaves his three children equal shares of his estate, but one specific bequest alters her path forever: a vintage Porsche Carrera. At the time of the inheritance, she has no idea what the car looks like, has never heard of the Porsche brand, cannot drive a stick shift, and possesses absolutely no interest in automobiles whatsoever. Inheriting a machine that represents a world so foreign to her own, she is thrust into the deep end of a passionate culture. As she grapples with the reality of owning this iconic sports car, her curiosity slowly begins to stir. What is it about this vehicle that makes it so special to collectors and drivers alike? The story follows her gradual, reluctant, and often humorous education as she navigates the rituals, friendships, and mechanical intricacies that define "car life." Through her journey, she begins to uncover not just the history and soul of her Carrera, but also a deeper connection to the father she lost. It is a gentle, character-driven exploration of grief and discovery, following a newcomer as she learns what drives a community of devoted enthusiasts to dedicate their lives to the open road.
