Melanco Killing

Amane Shougo has built his life on lies. A con artist operating under the criminal organization known as the Filching Owl, he takes genuine pleasure in the craft — the quiet thrill of reading people, winning their trust, and steering them exactly where he wants. For Shougo, deception is more than a livelihood; it is a source of superiority he savors with every scheme, each successful manipulation reinforcing his belief that he stands above those foolish enough to believe him. When a promising new target comes into view, Shougo does what he does best. He closes in, patient and charming, weaving his familiar web of deceit around an unsuspecting mark. But this time, the hunter becomes the hunted. The target was never prey at all — it was bait, and the entire encounter is an elaborate trap constructed with a single purpose: to capture him. Cornered and staring down death itself, Shougo finds his usual tricks useless. Yet even with his back against the wall, he refuses to fall quietly. With whatever time remains, he stakes everything on one desperate proposal — a final gamble whose outcome may determine whether he survives at all.
