In an age steeped in chaos, the world lay beneath the dominion of four governing spirits—wind, water, fire, and earth. Some among humanity learned to draw upon that primal power and shape it into spells, while a rare few were blessed with something far greater: the ability to hear the spirits' voices. To these chosen souls was granted command over the Darkness Rage, a formidable force known as Luciffis. Caught in the crosscurrents of this turbulent era are the twins Rudius and Mattie, whose lives have become a desperate flight from the Spell-Caster Monks. These relentless pursuers hunt the siblings down in order to seize the Luciffis, leaving the two with nowhere to turn but each other. But when fate drives the twins apart, Mattie finds herself alone and desperate to locate her missing brother. Her search leads her to Kishiru Mishuru, a fortune teller whose gifts may offer the only hope of reuniting with Rudius. And so, with her brother's fate hanging in the balance, Mattie's story begins...
