The Case of Doctor Agato

Five years after the war, the victorious nation of Formapolis basks in an uneasy peace—until a disturbing wave of incidents threatens to unravel it. Throughout the capital, corpses bearing grotesque alterations begin to surface, designated only as "specimens." Detective Kleine is put in charge of the investigation, tasked with scrutinizing every lead under the supervision of the state's special security division. His designated partner is Doctor Agato—a brilliant yet secretive scientist hailing from the defeated nation, whose practiced charm feels as calculating as it is calming. As Kleine delves further into the case, he encounters Tristan, a man wielding unnatural abilities and sharing a troubling history with Agato. The deeper the inquiry goes, the clearer it becomes that this is far more than a simple murder investigation. It is a reckoning with old sins, clandestine experiments, and a bond that defies easy definition—one that lingers in the quiet words, "I wanted to see you again, Professor."
