In the wake of the Third World War—a conflict remembered as The Third Division—Japan lay devastated and divided, the nation split into two separate territories. Several years after the fighting ended, a powerful criminal organization known as Vischio seized control of Toshima, the ruined remains of what was once Tokyo, the country's capital. Within this shattered city, Vischio orchestrates a deadly battle game called Igura. Akira, a young man wrongfully accused of a crime, finds himself arrested and imprisoned. It is then that a mysterious woman appears before him with an extraordinary offer: his freedom, granted on a single condition—he must enter Igura and defeat its most formidable competitor, a man feared as the king, known as "Il-re." Thrust into Toshima's harsh, lawless world, Akira is forced to navigate a brutal landscape where every day becomes a fight for survival. As he battles through the city's dangers, he must also work to unravel the dark mysteries steadily gathering around him.
