Humanity’s natural predators—dragons—once drove them to the brink of extinction. What remained of mankind retreated beneath the earth, living in fear of a surface they now call the “World of Death.” During an expedition through the underground, the 6th Food Procurement Squad stumbles upon a boy from the surface named Shiyu. No sooner have they found him than a dragon strikes. Faced with such overwhelming might, every member of the squad braces for certain death. Yet the boy merely smiles. “A tasty one has come.” Thus begins a fierce rivalry of predator versus predator between dragons and humans.
