Harukaze no Étranger

Novelist Shun journeys back to his hometown in Hokkaido, bringing with him Mio, his younger boyfriend. Years earlier, Shun broke with his family under painful circumstances: pressured into an arranged marriage with his childhood friend, he chose honesty instead and confessed that he was gay. The revelation cost him his parents' acceptance, and he has remained estranged from them ever since. News that his father has fallen ill finally draws Shun home. Returning to the family he left behind, he finds the homecoming strained and awkward, clouded by years of silence and by words that neither side has managed to say. For Mio, the trip carries a quieter significance of its own. Having lost his parents, he approaches the idea of family from a very different place, and the visit becomes a chance to reflect on what home and belonging truly mean. A direct continuation of *Umibe no Étranger*, this is the story of two young men taking their next step forward—together.
