Gu Huo Zai

Gu Huo Zai is a manhua centered on the world of the Triads. The story follows the life of protagonist Chan Ho-Nam as he works his way up through the ranks of the gang. The manhua's popularity led to its adaptation into a series of well-known gangster films, which exposed audiences to the face of the Triad and carried the actors involved to widespread fame. In 2012, Chan Ho-Nam was selected as one of 24 classic manhua characters to be featured at the Hong Kong Avenue of Comic Stars. That same year, the series' chapter count surpassed that of the manga "Bruce Lee" (1,560 chapters), establishing it as the longest-running manhua series in Hong Kong.
