The One-Eyed, One-Armed, One-Legged Sorcerer

As a young boy, Ains watched in horror as enemy forces razed his village to ashes. By the time rescuers finally arrived, he had lost his right arm, his left leg, and his right eye—yet the crushing misfortune barely occupied his thoughts. His mind lingered instead on something far more captivating: the first glimpse of magic he had ever witnessed, glittering among the smoldering ruins. That single, consuming fascination proved powerful enough to pull him away from society altogether. Retreating to a secluded cabin deep in the woods, Ains spent the next two thousand years in tireless study, devoting every waking moment to unraveling the mysteries of magic. When he finally steps back into the world, he emerges as a mage of unmatched, transcendent power. Yet the world that greets him is no longer the one he remembers. His modest childhood village has grown into a sprawling metropolis, and the hasty notes he once scribbled during his research have been enshrined as the sacred "Original Scripture." Even more astonishing, he himself has passed into legend as the dreaded "Demon God." After two millennia of isolation, can Ains truly find a place for himself in a world that has moved on without him?
