Scholar's Life Simulation System

In the autumn of 2016, at Chongqing University of Technology's Department of Mathematics, Ji Tianming stared in a daze at a page filled with epsilon-N language, feeling as though it were an impenetrable heavenly scripture. His confidence from scoring 130 on the gaokao mathematics exam completely shattered in the face of mathematical analysis and advanced algebra. Just as he was prepared to give up and coast, the Scholar's Life Simulation System activated. Prompted to start his first simulation, he accepted, only for the results to yield a D-rank rating for a mediocre opening. The simulation showed him skipping calculus classes and earning a professor's poor review, copying wrong answers in advanced algebra and receiving reprimands, stuttering nervously during an external relations department interview, and spending a whole weekend gaming while homework piled up. It was seven days of hazy drifting, destined to end with barely passing finals and no hope for competitions or graduate school recommendations. The system evaluation was scathing: identical to the vast majority of bewildered college freshmen, possessing fleeting ambition without matching execution, drifting with the current in a lenient environment, intermittingly full of grand aspirations while continuously coasting through life. Following this trajectory would lead to barely passing finals, missing out on scholarships and competitions, losing any chance at graduate school recommendations, and ultimately blending into the crowd as an utterly mediocre college student devoid of competitive value. However, upon claiming the settlement reward of +0.5 to his comprehension, Ji Tianming looked back at the textbook and suddenly gained a completely different perspective. The feeling of cheating really was different.
