Kanamemo

Orphaned and alone after the passing of her beloved grandmother, junior high school student Nakamachi Kana finds herself adrift in a world that suddenly feels far too large and empty. With no family left to turn to, her immediate survival hinges on finding shelter and a means to support herself. In a stroke of desperate fortune, she stumbles upon a local newspaper delivery station, a bustling hub of activity that offers a simple but vital solution: a live-in position that comes with a roof over her head. The arrangement, however, is far from the peaceful solitude she might have imagined. Her new living quarters are modest to a fault, but the most peculiar feature is the ragged hole carved into her wall—a direct passage to the room next door. The station's other female employees, a lively and unabashed bunch, waste no time in exploiting this architectural quirk. They crawl through the gap without warning, transforming her private sanctuary into an impromptu gathering spot. What follows is a relentless whirlwind of chaotic merrymaking as her neighbors intrude upon her space with food, laughter, and unapologetic revelry. For a girl accustomed to quiet days with her grandmother, Kana is suddenly thrust into the epicenter of an uproarious, all-female household where boundaries are nonexistent. As she navigates the exhausting yet unexpectedly warm chaos of her new life, she must learn to carve out her own place within this boisterous found family, one hole in the wall at a time.
