Fruit of the Underworld

Since childhood, Seiji has lived under a shadow of misfortune. As a boy, he descended into a dark, foreboding well to retrieve a lost ball and emerged clutching an unusual pomegranate. From that day forward, a relentless cascade of near-fatal "accidents" has plagued his life, slowly driving away everyone around him—everyone, that is, except his steadfast best friend, Haru. Everything unravels when a high school bus crash claims the lives of all passengers on board—save for Seiji alone. Suddenly, the old whispers from his youth, tales that the well pierced the very depths of the underworld, no longer seem like mere folklore. Thrust into a harrowing journey between worlds, Seiji must race against fate to rescue his friend and reclaim his own imperiled soul.
