Kimi no Wasurekata wo Oshiete

For Shuu Matsumoto, existence has become a hollow routine. A college dropout who has retreated into the confines of NEET life, he carries a persistent, gnawing sense of futility—alongside the bitter whisper that haunts him: *Even as I waste away, you will not grant me your forgiveness.* When his only friend, Tomi, urges him to return to their shared hometown and revisit the corridors of their old high school, Shuu agrees more out of apathy than hope, expecting nothing but a dull pilgrimage through a past he has long abandoned. Yet the past proves far from dormant. A sudden, chance reunion with Kiriyama Sayane—his childhood friend, now a radiant celebrity whose face dominates screens and billboards—upends his quiet resignation. Where Shuu has stagnated, Sayane has soared, and the stark contrast between their paths reignites a complex tangle of unspoken history. As they stand once again in the familiar setting of their youth, buried secrets and lingering resentments begin to stir. The encounter forces Shuu to confront the reasons behind his downfall and the nature of the transgression for which he still seeks absolution. In a single, unexpected meeting, the gears of his frozen destiny begin to turn, offering him a fragile chance to either finally heal—or shatter completely.
