Real Girl

Hikari Tsutsui—better known to his peers as "Tsuttsun"—is perfectly content with his insulated existence. A high school student who finds solace in anime and video games, he has built a comfortable world that requires little interaction with the messy realities of three-dimensional life. With few friends and a tendency to remain in his own head, Tsuttsun never expected his routine to be disrupted, least of all by a girl as vibrant and unsettling as Iroha. When a mundane school chore forces the two of them to clean the pool together, Tsuttsun suddenly finds himself in the orbit of a girl who is his complete opposite. Stylish, sassy, and unapologetically forward, Iroha is known for her easy confidence and flirtatious reputation. She doesn't wait for polite small talk; she actively and aggressively engages with the flustered loner, leaving him no room to retreat into his fantasies. Forced to confront a real girl who demands his attention, the inexperienced Tsuttsun is caught completely off guard. As Iroha’s wild and confident personality chips away at his defenses, Tsuttsun discovers that his quiet heart is no match for her overwhelming presence. His once stable, virtual world begins to tilt, turned upside down by the very reality he had always avoided. This is the awkward, pure, and transformative story of a boy taking his very first, fumbling steps into a real relationship, where love is far more complicated—and far more exhilarating—than any game or anime could ever capture.
