Mermaid Prince

This collection brings together three distinct short stories, including the title work "Mermaid Prince" alongside "Ametsukigahara" and "Yuki no Hi." In the central narrative, Mugi has just relocated to a small island in southern Japan and finds himself struggling to adapt to his unfamiliar surroundings. His classmate Matori is persistently attentive, never seeming to leave his side. When Mugi spends the night at Matori's house, her grandmother shares an old local legend about sirens—mystical beings said to have the power to grant any wish. The tale subtly intertwines with Mugi's own unease, casting his new life on the island in a dreamlike, uncertain light.
