Tokimeki Mononoke Jogakkou

Arare has always known she is not quite ordinary. Though she has grown up in the human world, the subtle truth of her heritage has never been far from her awareness—her mother’s ethereal nature makes it clear that fairy blood runs through her veins. Yet nothing in her life has prepared her for the shock of her first day of high school. Rather than walking through the gates of a mundane academy, she stumbles directly into the Otherworld, a realm teeming with supernatural beings that she had only ever glimpsed in half-remembered tales. Her new classroom is a menagerie of the fantastic: an instructor with a neck far too long to be human, classmates who are ogres, snow demons, cyclopes, drifting ghosts, and living mist. Among them, two figures quickly draw her in—the twin-tailed cat-girl Kiri and the unnervingly long-tongued Pero, who offer her a fragile thread of friendship in this bewildering place. But Arare’s disorientation deepens when she realizes that the passage between worlds has sealed itself behind her, leaving no path back to the life she knew. Now stranded within these haunted school grounds, Arare must navigate a daily existence among monsters while grappling with the haunting question of whether she truly belongs among them—or if she will ever find a way home.
