Summary
Official Details
On a dark and storm-lashed night in Tokyo, twin sisters are born—yet only one of the newborns is human. The other arrives as a demon child with a craving for blood: a Hell Baby. Feared for the monster she seems to be, the infant is sealed inside a plastic bag, hurled into a garbage dump, and left to perish. But death cannot hold her. An otherworldly bolt of lightning jolts the discarded child back to life, and in the shadowed wasteland of the dump, where wild beasts roam, she teaches herself the art of the hunt in order to survive. Across seven punishing years of hardship, the Hell Baby hones her predatory instincts while her suffering hardens into a burning resolve to take revenge for her fate. Now she returns to the city that abandoned her, unleashing her feral skills upon the good citizens of Tokyo. Infused with Hino's signature gallows humor and shocking, uncompromising imagery, Hell Baby endures as a classic horror masterwork from one of Japan's most accomplished artists.
