Gekkou no Carnevale

Set in Belmonte, a city reminiscent of Italy where technology remains at the level of the late nineteenth century, the story follows Romeo, a taxi driver who was once involved with an organization known as the Olma Rossa. The city's inhabitants are served by Automata—human-sized mechanical dolls. Romeo comes across one such automata in the form of a young woman who appears to have lost her memory. He names her Anna, and the two begin living together. Before long, however, the Olma Rossa begins closing in on Romeo, and an organization made up of automata emerges as well. Romeo must now fight to protect the life he leads.
