Osewagakari wa Mamanaranai

For eighteen-year-old Iijima Tooka, the vibrant allure of two-dimensional characters has always offered the ultimate escape. As she prepares to begin her university journey in the bustling heart of Tokyo, she eagerly embraces the chance for independence. Through her mother's friend, Katsura-san, she secures a cozy apartment—a perfect sanctuary for her otaku lifestyle—on one simple condition: she must look after Katsura-san's cherished dog, Mikuro-chan. Tooka gladly accepts this responsibility, envisioning a peaceful, solitary existence surrounded by her beloved 2D idols. Her carefully laid plans for a quiet, fictional paradise are immediately upended, however, when she arrives to find a handsome and enigmatic young man named Oku already settling into the space. To her utter shock, he nonchalantly declares that he is also a tenant, shattering her assumption that she would have the place to herself. For a girl who has always preferred the safety of pixels to the unpredictability of real-life interactions, sharing a roof with a captivating 3D "ikemen" is nothing short of a nightmare. Now thrust into an awkward and unwanted cohabitation, Tooka must navigate the chaos of her daily routine—juggling university life, caring for Mikuro-chan, and contending with Oku's mysterious and infuriating presence. As their clashing worlds collide, the boundaries between her cherished fantasies and the undeniable reality of her charming new roommate begin to blur, setting the stage for an unexpected romance that is anything but two-dimensional.
