The Only Player in the Marvel World

For a grand prize of ten million, Du Mu is deep into clearing a massive virtual game called "Marvel World." What he doesn't realize is that the moment the game booted up, he was already transported into the real Marvel Universe—and he has become its sole player. Nick Fury considers Du Mu a fine agent, if only he would follow orders; every time a mission is briefed, Du Mu simply skips past him. Tony Stark is left bewildered after a team-up with Du Mu, returning home with nothing but his underpants. Bruce Banner, on the other hand, had the opposite misfortune—only his underwear was stolen, which sent him into a rage-fueled Hulk transformation that made front-page news that very night. Thor recounts how Du Mu claimed to have maxed out his justice score at 1,000, then promptly grabbed Mjolnir and bolted. Faced with the chorus of complaints from Earth's mightiest heroes, Du Mu remains unfazed, calmly insisting that everything he did falls within the game's permitted mechanics—if they have a problem, they should take it up with the developers.
