In the Name of the Savior

Yvonne Brigejer is no ordinary mage. An archmage of formidable power and a demidragon, she is also the sole human to have ever been loved by Roigenkistro, a dragon of ancient might. To be a dragon’s soulmate is to be elevated beyond mortal station, yet the bond carries a perilous shadow: in her veins runs the dragon’s cold, unfeeling blood, and in moments of fury, that ice can consume her humanity. When a fit of such rage nearly drives Yvonne to harm her own unborn child, she extracts a solemn vow from Roigenkistro—that he will guard both her child and her mortal lover, Jeye, with his life. But promises, even those sworn by dragons, are fragile. Roigenkistro fails, and Jeye falls. Shattered by loss, Yvonne chooses death, hoping only to find Jeye again beyond the veil. Yet fate denies her even that mercy. She awakens not in an afterlife, but in a world that has been subtly rewritten—a reality where her love affair with Jeye has been erased from memory, where Roigenkistro is nowhere to be found, and where she stands utterly alone in her grief. Stripped of her past and haunted by unanswered questions, Yvonne must navigate this alien present while wrestling with the dragon’s heartlessness that still lurks within her. Can she endure the weight of her sorrow long enough to uncover what became of the man and the dragon she loved—and whether any trace of that love still endures?
