Last Gender: When We Are Nameless

Tucked away in a discreet corner of the city, BAR California opens its doors only to those searching for a place where they can finally shed their masks. This chic, secluded establishment draws patrons of every gender identity, preference, and sexual orientation—some arrive hoping to discover who they truly are, while others come seeking sex, love, or a single evening of genuine understanding. Among the regulars is a bisexual trans woman, worn down by years of harsh words and judgment, who quietly longs for an ordinary, loving relationship. Nearby sits a middle-aged salaryman with a family waiting at home, secretly embracing the feminine side he has kept hidden all his life. And then there is a pansexual cisgender man, open-hearted and open-minded, still holding out hope that true love exists somewhere in the world. Though each visitor arrives carrying a story of their own, their lives gradually begin to weave together as they struggle toward acceptance and happiness. At BAR California, no two desires are alike—after all, just as there are countless people in the world, there are just as many ways to be, to want, and to love.
