Hikatte! Tsukishiro-san

Tsukishiro spends his days behind the wheel of a city bus, navigating familiar routes while carrying a secret that isolates him from the world. His hair, unremarkable in everyday light, betrays him the moment joy or hope stirs within his heart—it shimmers with a soft, unmistakable glow. Terrified of exposure and the alienation it would invite, he has constructed a careful existence built on emotional denial. Every evening, he retreats to a desolate bridge, where he performs a grim ritual: deliberately purging every positive feeling and casting them into the dark waters below, ensuring he remains hollow, detached, and above all, invisible. That fragile system of self-preservation, however, cannot hold forever. The crushing weight of years spent suffocating his own humanity finally drives Tsukishiro to the brink, and on one fateful night, he stands at the very edge of the bridge, prepared to end his suffering. But in the moment when all hope seems irretrievably lost, an unforeseen presence steps into his solitude—an encounter so unexpected and profound that it shatters the careful walls he has built. What begins as a chance meeting will force him to confront the emotions he has so desperately tried to erase, and for the first time, offer a fragile yet undeniable possibility: that his curse might instead become the key to a life truly worth living.
