Kobold Wizard's Journal

Luge is in a gloomy mood. He has noticed that he has been shedding a little fur lately—but that hardly matters, because the gates to the transcendent world are opening before him. He intends to become a powerful wizard and one day cover his body in scales, just like that irritating yet terrifying Twenty-Eight-Clawed Burrowing Dragon. In his spare time, he often dreams of the day he will no longer wear a dog-headed, dog-faced form, but instead return to being that clean, fresh human he once was. He also frequently imagines slender, twisting horns—the kind that belong to the higher demon races—emerging from his fast-balding forehead, though that would be hardly any easier than growing scales. After all, the legendary dragons and powerful demon races naturally assume a human form upon reaching adulthood. Yes, an enormous detour, taken for one purpose alone: to become human again, and to bid farewell to that smelly kobold shell that never stops shedding fur. At least, that was what he thought in the beginning.
