Transjitter: Ibitsu na Karada

Shunichi Ikeya has always known Yuka Yashiro as the girl next door, a steadfast presence throughout his childhood. But when she finally musters the courage to confess her romantic feelings, his answer defies every expectation. Rather than accepting her affections, Shunichi comes out to her as gay—a revelation that could have easily severed their bond. Surprisingly, the confession itself does not become the fulcrum on which their shared lives pivot; the emotional weight of that moment is swiftly overshadowed by something far more visceral and unthinkable. What truly dismantles and rebuilds their reality is not a shift in sentiment, but a radical change in sex. A jarring physical transformation seizes control of their existence, altering the fundamental biology that underpins their identities. Suddenly, the childhood friendship that once provided comfort becomes a complicated knot of confusion, as both Shunichi and Yuka are forced to confront a new, uncharted dynamic. Their bodies no longer reflect the people they used to be, and the familiar terrain of their relationship crumbles beneath them, replaced by an unsettling landscape of questions about love, desire, and selfhood. As this bewildering metamorphosis takes hold, their lives spiral into uncharted territory. The confession that once defined the turning point of their youth now feels like a footnote compared to the physical and psychological upheaval that follows. With every boundary—between friendship and romance, male and female, past and future—blurring beyond recognition, Shunichi and Yuka must find a way to navigate a world where the only constant is the very change that threatens to tear them apart.
