Yoru to Yakusoku

High school should be a place to find friendship and belonging, but for Yoshino Shinya, it has become a daily ordeal. Relentlessly targeted by bullies and shunned by his classmates, he walks through each school day utterly alone. What none of his tormentors could ever guess, however, is that Shinya carries a burden far heavier than their cruelty: he is half-youkai, and the otherworldly blood in his veins stirs within him a hunger to devour human flesh. The only thing restraining that monstrous appetite is a vow he made long ago to his youkai father—a promise that he would never prey upon a human being. Day after day, Shinya wages a quiet battle against his own heritage, straining to suppress the craving that courses through him while forcing himself to appear as nothing more than an ordinary student. Yet the thirst for blood is never far from the surface. Can Shinya honor the promise he made to his father, or will the youkai within him one day break free—and with it, the secret he has fought so desperately to keep hidden?
