In a world that subtly diverges from our own, a peculiar biological anomaly surfaces during adolescence: a minuscule fraction of children awaken to supernatural abilities as they cross the threshold of puberty. This hidden population carries gifts that range from the trivial to the formidable, forever altering the fabric of their ordinary lives. Among these select few is Yuu Otosaka, a young high school student whose newly manifested power is as intrusive as it is potent—the ability to temporarily seize control of another person's consciousness, inhabiting their body for fleeting, critical moments. Armed with this unnerving talent for possession, Yuu harbors no grand ambitions of heroism or discovery. His sole aspiration is far more modest and self-serving: to coast through his academic years with minimal effort and maximum comfort. He envisions a carefree existence where examinations are effortlessly conquered, social hurdles are neatly circumvented, and every personal inconvenience is swiftly undone with a subtle, supernatural nudge. Yet the very nature of his power breeds a quiet, persistent tension. To commandeer the will of others is to dance along a razor's edge, where each misuse risks exposure and each exploitation erodes the boundary between privilege and transgression. As Yuu indulges his convenient new advantage, he remains oblivious to the unsettling reality that such a gift cannot remain hidden forever—and that the cost of an easy life may be far steeper than he ever imagined.
