The Last Golden Child

The world of Midgard is a brutal theater of divine cruelty, where the gods who rule from on high do not simply govern—they consume. For Roxy, this grotesque truth shatters her existence on the very day meant for celebration: her sister’s birthday. In a single, cataclysmic moment, she loses everything she holds dear, only to be confronted with the harrowing reality that her kind are raised as mere sustenance for the very deities they revere. Devastated but not broken, Roxy clings to a single, desperate whisper of hope. She learns that death is not absolute, and that the impossible act of reviving her sister hinges on obtaining a mythical heart—a prize that lies hidden somewhere in the perilous expanse of their fallen world. Driven by a love that defies the gods themselves, Roxy abandons the safety of the known and steps into a nightmare. Her quest is a treacherous gauntlet through lands teeming with monstrous entities and ancient horrors, yet it is not only the beasts that hunt her. Whispers of her mission spread like wildfire, drawing relentless pursuers who see her as a threat to the divine order. As she faces enemies far beyond her strength, every battle becomes a fight for survival in a world that has already claimed her once. With the fate of her sister hanging in the balance, Roxy must somehow overcome insurmountable odds, discover the depths of her own resilience, and carve a path through chaos to snatch salvation from the jaws of godhood itself.
