Because she was addicted

Following a chaotic night in Dali, Wen Jia mistakenly assumes Lu Chenyan is merely a local tour guide. She soon discovers he is actually her new boss, a powerful man who begins showering her with extravagant affection and pampering her so openly that the entire city grows envious. Believing her misfortune has finally turned around, she embraces his devotion as a long-overdue reward from fate. However, this sweetness proves to be nothing more than a calculated scheme. Wen Jia realizes she is merely a tool for Lu Chenyan—a pawn used to exact revenge on someone else and soothe his own dark obsession. Smiling through her heartbreak, Wen Jia vanishes without a trace. Returning to her quiet hometown, she pours her energy into building a career, rescuing her family from ruin, and ultimately becoming the guiding light of her own life. Yet rumors eventually reach her that President Lu has lost his mind, frantically searching everywhere for a woman named Wen Jia. Her peaceful existence shatters when Lu Chenyan corners her on a desolate road. On a freezing, rain-soaked night in Quzhou, the once-arrogant man bows his head before her in utter desperation. With tear-stained, reddened eyes, he whispers her name.
