Brynhildr in the Darkness

High school student Ryota Murakami remains deeply haunted by the tragic death of his childhood friend. Unable to let go of her memory, he clings fiercely to a promise they made together years ago. Driven by unwavering devotion to that vow, Ryota dedicates himself to the school’s astronomy club, spending his days scanning the night sky for extraterrestrial life—a shared dream born from their youth that he refuses to abandon. His quiet, grief-stricken routine is shattered when a striking new transfer student arrives in his class. Her name is Neko Kuroha, and her appearance leaves Ryota stunned: she is the spitting image of his late friend. Yet, despite her familiar face, Neko carries an enigmatic, almost otherworldly aura that sets her apart from anyone he has ever known. Beneath her calm exterior lie inexplicable secrets that defy logic and challenge everything Ryota believes about the world. As her mysterious nature slowly unravels, Ryota finds himself drawn into a reality far stranger than the distant stars he once sought, forcing him to confront questions that no telescope could ever answer.
