Rather than bringing him peace, this unconditional acceptance only deepens his anxiety. Cross constantly agonizes over his place among such remarkable individuals, wondering what a completely useless person like him could possibly contribute to a quest of such monumental importance. Driven by this relentless self-doubt, Cross spends his days searching for a way to prove his worth. His desperate search for purpose finally reaches its climax during the ultimate confrontation with the Demon King. As the battle draws to a close and the dying Demon King unleashes a final, devastating spell aimed directly at the hero, everything changes.
