For You, I’ll Dress up in a Lie

Kokuyou Yuzuru is an unassuming, somewhat ordinary boy whose life has always revolved around his closest companion. Since early childhood, he and his best friend, Shiratama Kotaro, have been practically inseparable, sharing a deep bond that defines their everyday world. To Yuzuru, this constant presence felt like an unshakable certainty, a comforting routine he believed would never fade. Even as the two boys transitioned into middle school, they held onto the naive but earnest belief that nothing could alter their dynamic. They imagined their friendship would endure effortlessly, carrying them through adolescence just as it had through their younger years. The future seemed predictable, anchored entirely by the familiar comfort of being together. However, that quiet sense of permanence is suddenly shattered. A single, unexpected event occurs, fundamentally altering the nature of their connection and forcing both boys to confront a reality they never anticipated. What was once a simple, enduring friendship is thrust into uncharted territory, leaving Yuzuru to navigate a drastic shift in the one relationship he thought would last forever.
