Mahoutsukai no Yoru

On a hilltop stands a mansion inhabited by two witches. The setting is the late 1980s, the fading twilight of an age defined by beauty and vitality. In this modern world, the two witches keep their existence concealed, their lives unfolding quietly apart from ordinary sight. A boy moves to the city, passing so close to them that he only just misses them. He lives a thoroughly ordinary life, unaware of the hidden figures nearby. One witch conducts herself with gallant pride. The other dwells in a sleepy, hidden existence. Though each walks a starlit path, those paths appear destined never to intersect. The boy, the proud witch, and the hidden girl are three separate people whose lives seem wholly unconnected. Yet the story of how these three disparate souls come together is soon to be told. Their convergence, unlikely as it seems, lies at the heart of this tale.
