The Despicable Duke Settles His Affairs

After meticulous planning, Kashimiya Tsukasa takes his own life to save his family, only to awaken not in the afterlife but amid scenes of torture, mutilation, and unbearable suffering—all inflicted by his own hands. When his mind clears, he realizes he has been reborn into the world of his favorite novel, not as its hero but as the sadistic Duke Heinreid von Rodvelia. Haunted by the duke’s vile memories, he vows to atone by giving himself the permanent ending he deserves. Yet his sudden change in personality draws the suspicion of Craig Bauer, Heinreid’s personal knight—and the man who ultimately kills him in the original story. Craig’s scrutiny gradually twists into obsession, and as his fate becomes entangled with Heinreid’s doomed destiny, the novel’s plot begins to warp around them. Will Heinreid meet his end impaled to the hilt on Craig’s sword, or can even the most despicable duke find a reason to keep living beyond the final page?
