The Vampire and His Pleasant Companions

Ever since becoming a vampire, Albert’s existence has settled into a predictable rhythm, shifting seamlessly between his human and bat forms as day turns to night. However, his familiar routine spanning the United States is abruptly upended when a bizarre accident at a Nebraska meat-processing plant leaves him flash-frozen alongside his midday meal. Instead of waking up in familiar territory, the bat version of Albert finds himself unexpectedly shipped across the ocean, thawing out in a completely foreign land: Japan. Now stranded in Tokyo without any knowledge of the Japanese language, Albert faces an impossible situation. Wandering the streets naked makes explaining his predicament to the local authorities entirely out of the question. With no resources and no way to communicate, his only hope for survival lies in relying on the questionable kindness of a new group of companions he encounters in the city. Yet, before they can offer any meaningful help, Albert must first overcome a seemingly insurmountable hurdle—convincing these strangers that he is, in fact, the very same bat they have crossed paths with.
