Suehiro is a reserved young woman who finds far more comfort in the pages of her books than in the unpredictable anxieties of real-world friendships. Content within her quiet, solitary existence, she has never sought attention or companionship beyond the fictional worlds she immerses herself in daily. Her peaceful routine, however, is abruptly shattered when Takasago, an overwhelmingly popular boy at school, publicly asks her out in front of their entire class. What makes the situation even more mortifying is the revelation that his sudden confession was initially intended as a punishment game. Thrust unwillingly into the spotlight, Suehiro desperately attempts to distance herself from the overwhelming scrutiny and escape back into her familiar isolation.
