The Assassin and Part-Time Worker

Tsuzuru Tamotsu is a young man whose luck has seemingly run out. Enduring grueling seven-day work weeks, he faces an endless string of misfortunes, from being mugged to dealing with hostile customers. However, his streak of terrible days reaches an entirely new level when he stumbles upon a severely injured, near-death stranger while walking home from his part-time job in a dark alleyway. Just as Tsuzuru prepares to contact the authorities, the mysterious man uses the last reserves of his fading strength to stop him. Against all common sense and basic personal safety, Tsuzuru makes the reckless decision to bring the bleeding stranger into his own home to tend to his wounds. This impulsive act of misplaced compassion immediately pulls the exhausted worker into a dangerous situation far beyond his understanding. The stranger's identity remains a complete mystery, leaving Tsuzuru to wonder who this man truly is and what violent circumstances left him so badly hurt. As the reality of harboring an unknown, critically injured person sets in, it becomes increasingly clear that there may be a deeper reason why Tsuzuru constantly finds himself entangled in such chaotic messes.
