Yumi Ikoma and Ryou Masaoka, two young children, are selected to pilot the first Fafner combat units in a top-secret mission, humanity's last chance for survival. Their enemy is relentless, merciless, and able to read human minds, forcing the details of the mission to remain a secret even from the involved personnel.
