Ah Dai is a pure-hearted boy born into a life of thievery. His only comforts are steamed buns—which are always in short supply—and a girl named Ya Tou, who eventually leaves him and never returns. Forced by street gangsters to pickpocket strangers, the kind and soft-hearted child often finds himself questioning what is right and what is wrong. This unexpected turn of fate soon leads the boy to save the life of the country’s most feared assassin, known as the King of Hell. To repay the debt, the assassin takes Ah Dai under his wing for grueling, intensive training.
