When her father’s employment requires the family to relocate, Hotaru finds herself enrolled in the remarkably small Asahigaoka Branch School, bracing for what promises to be the culture shock of a lifetime. Yet, isolation does not mean loneliness. Hotaru quickly crosses paths with a vibrant group of local children who bring the tranquil countryside to life. She befriends the wonderfully eccentric Renge alongside the mischievous sisters Natsumi and Komari, each offering their own unique perspective on rural living.
