Summary

Official Details
While the classic tale of Journey to the West follows a group of travelers escorting a monk to atone for their past sins, Chinyuuki: Tarou to Yukai na Nakama-tachi takes that familiar premise and turns it into a wild parody. The story centers on Tarou Yamada, a ruthless assassin whose horrific misdeeds extend far beyond simply murdering countless victims—he also made a habit of defecating on their graves. His grotesque behavior eventually catches the attention of a passing monk, who punishes him by cursing his body, transforming him into a bizarre baby-monkey hybrid creature. Stripped of his humanity and trapped in this humiliating new form, Tarou is forced to seek redemption under the monk's guidance. To break the curse and restore his original human body, he must accompany the monk on an arduous journey fraught with danger. Along the way, Tarou finds himself battling fearsome demons and confronting a variety of strange anomalies that stand in their path. What begins as a punishment for a heartless killer quickly evolves into a chaotic adventure, blending dark humor with supernatural action as Tarou fights to reclaim his lost humanity alongside his unlikely companions.
