After successfully unifying the realm through conquest, a young emperor turns his attention to securing the future of his dynasty by seeking a suitable consort. To identify the most worthy candidate, he decrees a grand competition open to every woman across the newly consolidated territories, inviting them to vie for the prestigious title of empress. This unprecedented selection process transforms the search for a royal partner into a high-stakes contest that captures the attention of the entire nation and sets the stage for intense rivalry among the participants. Amidst the multitude of hopefuls stands Christina, a young woman whose participation defies all conventional expectations. Despite being actively wanted by the kingdom’s authorities, she boldly steps forward to enter the imperial selection, risking capture and severe consequences in pursuit of the throne. Her mysterious status as a fugitive creates a profound tension at the heart of the competition, as her presence challenges both the legitimacy of the emperor’s decree and the safety of the court. As the contest unfolds, Christina must navigate not only the trials designed to test potential queens but also the ever-present danger of her own precarious legal standing within the very empire she seeks to join.
