Issho ni Itadakimasu

Ryo runs a modest bento shop nestled within a bustling local shopping district. Her quiet routine is disrupted one day when a young man collapses from starvation right in front of her storefront. His name is Kotaro, an aspiring novelist who presents himself as a disheveled figure with unkempt hair and smudged glasses, speaking in a voice so soft it is barely audible. He has been avoiding his responsibilities after failing to finish his debut novel, spiraling into a situation where he cannot even secure ordinary employment to pay his bills. As a result, his electricity, gas, and water have all been shut off. Despite his grim circumstances, Kotaro finds unexpected comfort in Ryo's cooking. Having grown up in an orphanage, he never experienced the warmth of sharing a meal with a family. When he tastes her food, he remarks that Ryo’s bento boxes carry the distinct, comforting flavor of a home-cooked family dinner. For him, eating at her shop becomes more than just sustenance; it fills a deep emotional void. Through these shared meals, two people from different walks of life begin to find solace in each other's company.
