Neon Genesis Evangelion: Legend of the Piko Piko Middle School Students

Earth faces an unprecedented crisis as mysterious invaders emerge to threaten the planet's survival. In response to this looming catastrophe, a desperate strategy is put into motion: recruit a select group of elite middle school students and have them play video games that secretly serve as combat training for the real battle ahead. The premise may sound like a familiar science fiction trope, but the execution quickly derails when the chosen candidates are revealed to be Shinji, Rei, Asuka, and Kaworu. Rather than molding into disciplined defenders of humanity, this particular squad proves entirely unsuited for the task at hand. Instead of taking their hidden military preparation seriously, the four students become hopelessly absorbed in the games themselves, treating the entire operation as nothing more than casual entertainment. Their complete lack of urgency leaves their handlers scrambling for a better solution. With the fate of the world hanging in the balance, the masterminds behind the operation must urgently devise a new plan, because these specific elite students are far too distracted by their screens to ever climb into the cockpit of a giant robot.
