Kenshuui Shoujo

Hanashima Ruka arrives at Kamakura Hospital in Kanagawa Prefecture not as a patient, but as a newly assigned medical intern joining the emergency department. Her ambition to become an emergency physician was born from a childhood trauma: she was rescued from the wreckage of a devastating subway explosion by an unnamed doctor whose identity she never discovered. Though she cannot recall his name, his heroism left an indelible mark on her, fueling a lifelong determination to follow in his footsteps and dedicate herself to saving others. Ruka quickly learns that working in the emergency room is far more grueling than the idealized vision of rescuing lives. The patients who arrive are often facing their most critical and harrowing moments, and despite receiving the highest standard of care, many will inevitably succumb to their injuries or illnesses. Working alongside her fellow interns and under the mentorship of Dr. Sanno, a relatively young supervising physician, Ruka must confront these harsh realities daily. Undeterred by the emotional weight of the ER, she remains resolute in her commitment to providing every patient with the absolute best care possible.
